Business Licensing

Thank you for contacting the City of Rainier regarding business licensing.

On February 4, 2021, per new state requirements, the City of Rainier partnered with the Department of Revenue for business licensing services. All business license applications and renewals must now be filed through the Department of Revenue’s website.

Please visit the WA Department of Revenue to apply for or renew your business license.

The cost will remain $35 annually and business & occupation taxes will still be submitted directly to city hall via mail or in-person.

Please note that city business licenses are only required for companies doing business within the city limits of Rainier, WA. If you are not conducting business within city limits, please visit the DOR website for more information.

Power Outage Reporting

Thank you for contacting the City of Rainier with your concerns.

The City of Rainier does not provide power services.

Business & Occupation Taxes

Thank you for contacting the City of Rainier regarding business and occupation taxes.

Business and Occupation (B&O) taxes are due quarterly. Tax forms and payment (if applicable) are required to be submitted directly to city hall in-person or via mail. Download a blank Business & Occupation Form.

B&O taxes are only required if your company has conducted business within the city limits of Rainier, WA. If your company has not done business within city limits, please visit the DOR website for more information on filing.
